Ilana’s Top 5 Teaching Websites for K-6
Interactive technologies are a great way to enhance the educational experience in the classroom. With Clevertouch Interactive Display Panels, teachers can easily share multimedia content with students, allowing for an immersive and engaging learning experience. But, to get the most out of this technology, it’s important to have the right tools at your disposal.
In this blog post, Ilana Shelton, ASI Solutions’ Technology Trainer shares her Top 5 Teaching K-6 Websites for use on Clevertouch Panels via the browser. Each of these sites is designed to help teachers bolster interactive and engaging lessons.
1. Toy Theatre
Toy Theatre offers teachers a wide range of interactive manipulatives in Maths, Reading, Art and Music. The Teacher Tools section is my favourite part of the app. You can access a huge range of tools, all with options to ensure differentiation, such as interactive dice, online timers, spinners and many more. I love that you don’t need to always search for equipment. It is all available in one place for all to use and see.

2. Classroom Screen
Classroom Screen provides teachers with a range of exciting widgets and tools to use in the classroom. On the same screen, you can personalise the background image, which gains immediate student attention and use the tools with the app such as the class poll, random name chooser, sound level checker, drawing and text, clocks, group maker and many more. I love that the tools are so relevant to maintain engagement in any classroom and all on one screen. The students love ‘testing out’ the sound level checker before it can be used for classroom management. The random name picker and group selector is perfect for any classroom.

This site provides teachers with a range of virtual manipulatives for geometry, algebra, number, fractions and probability and data. There are also plenty of lessons and activities for maths lessons. This app is brilliant as you can show to students maths concepts such as 3D nets by folding and unfolding shapes. There is a huge range of maths resources, such as dominoes, cards, and money shapes which can all be duplicated and manipulated to make teaching maths engaging and fun.

4. Plickers
Plickers is great for the classroom as it doesn’t require students to have their own devices! Teachers use the Plickerswebsite to set up a class account and then uses the Plicker app on their phone to control the live quiz. Plickers really build engagement and is a great way to gather data at the start or end of learning. I love that Plickers can be used in any classroom, regardless of whether the students can access devices. The physical engagement required from the students and the live results shown on the screen creates a very fun learning atmosphere.
