Overview

Hammer Hire, a leader in construction equipment and attachment hire, specialises in providing high-quality solutions for various industries, including construction, demolition, and civil projects.

However, manual processes for managing onsite work orders were time-consuming and resource-intensive. Hammer Hire partnered with ASI Solutions to modernise their operations by deploying an automated solution leveraging Microsoft’s Power Platform technologies.

Challenge

Hammer Hire’s reliance on manual methods for work order management and communication created inefficiencies that impacted their operations.

Every day, administrators compiled reports and manually updated Microsoft Teams to communicate with onsite staff, leading to delays and increased workloads. The existing process also hindered seamless communication between sales representatives, administrators, and technicians, making it difficult to maintain operational flow and address work order statuses promptly.

Solution

ASI Solutions designed a robust workflow leveraging Microsoft Power Platform technologies to address these challenges. The solution featured a SharePoint-based centralised system to efficiently track work orders, enabling administrators and staff to access real-time data.

A custom Power App was developed to simplify work order creation and streamline status updates throughout the lifecycle. Additionally, automated workflows were integrated into Microsoft Teams, replicating Hammer Hire’s daily operations to ensure timely communication and updates for onsite staff.

The process was further enhanced with a closure mechanism, allowing administrators to mark work orders as billable or non-billable, improving accuracy in finalising tasks. This cohesive solution eliminated manual inefficiencies while ensuring a seamless workflow.
