Overview
Malek Fahd Islamic School (MFIS), one of Sydney’s largest Islamic schools, spanning over four campuses and serving over 3,000 students and 300 educators. While MFIS had worked with ASI Solutions on smaller initiatives in the past, the school’s ambitious goal to unify technology across the board prompted a deeper partnership.
Seeking a modern, scalable solution to empower students and teachers alike, MFIS was ready to move beyond fragmented IT into a future-ready digital learning environment.
Challenge
Malek Fahd Islamic School faced growing challenges as their existing device fleet aged. A patchwork of mismatched vendors made device management inefficient and inconsistent, negatively impacting classroom instruction. Teachers struggled to deliver digital lessons when not all students had access to compatible devices.
MFIS envisioned launching a 1:1 device program, where every student from Years 7 to 10 would receive a school-provided device. Additionally, the school sought to replace outdated teacher devices with a consistent platform.
They required a partner that could not only supply hardware but deliver a full-service solution including: device management via Microsoft Intune; comprehensive onboarding; and in-person support.
Solution
ASI Solutions collaborated with Microsoft to deliver a turnkey solution centered on the Surface Laptop 6, powered by Intel® Core™ Ultra processors. With advanced AI capabilities and lightning-fast performance, the Surface Laptop 6 offered the ideal blend of portability, battery life, and processing power, perfect for both students and educators. Its sleek, durable design ensured it could stand up to daily school use, while integrated AI features unlocked new teaching possibilities and learning experiences.
This training ensured that every user, from Year 7 students to senior educators, were equipped with the digital confidence and skills to use their devices effectively in and beyond the classroom.
Results
Malek Fahd Islamic School is now officially recognised as a Microsoft Lighthouse School. Every student from Years 7 to 10 is equipped with a school-managed Surface Laptop 6, and all staff have been upgraded to the same platform.
This consistency has dramatically improved digital learning delivery, simplified IT management, and ensured every classroom is future-ready. Teachers are now empowered with tools that align perfectly with the student experience, fostering better engagement and more effective teaching.
